Espresso is an app created to catalog coffees, record ratings, comments, photos, and experiences related to discovering and enjoying specialty coffees.

Information We Collect

When you use Espresso, we may collect the following information:

• Login information provided by authentication providers such as Google or Apple, including name, email address, and profile photo when available.
• Display name, nickname, country, or other profile information entered by you within the app.
• Ratings, scores, comments, favorites, and interactions you make with coffees listed in the app.
• Information about coffees you register manually, such as name, country of origin, roast level, format, sensory profile, barcode, and image.
• Photos you upload, such as images of coffees or packaging, when you choose to register or edit a coffee entry.
• Reports you submit about comments or photos from other users.
• Technical data required for the app to function, such as internal identifiers, authentication records, and data stored through Firebase.

How We Use Information

The information we collect is used to:

• Allow login and user identification within the app.
• Display your name, profile photo, nickname, country, ratings, and comments associated with your account.
• Save and sync ratings, favorites, comments, and registered coffees.
• Improve the coffee database available to users.
• Moderate user-generated content and respond to reports.
• Maintain the security, integrity, and operation of the app.
• Handle support requests, account deletion, or data removal requests.

Public User-Generated Content

Ratings, comments, scores, usernames, nicknames, profile photos, country indicators, and information about registered coffees may be displayed to other users within the app. Do not publish personal or sensitive information in comments, photos, or coffee entries.

Data Sharing

We do not sell users' personal data. We also do not share personal information with third parties for external advertising purposes.

We use third-party services required for the app to operate, including Firebase Authentication, Firebase Realtime Database, Firebase Storage, Google Sign-In, Sign in with Apple, and public product information sources such as Open Food Facts. These services may process data according to their own privacy policies.

Information may be shared only when necessary to operate the app through the services listed above, comply with legal obligations, protect users, or enforce app policies.

App Permissions

Espresso may request permissions such as:

• Internet access, required for login, data synchronization, image loading, and coffee information lookup.
• Camera access, when you choose to take a photo to register or edit a coffee, or scan a barcode.
• Photo library or gallery access, when you choose to select an existing image.

These permissions are used only for features requested by you.

Storage and Security

App data is stored in Firebase services, including database and image storage. We apply reasonable measures to protect information, but no electronic system is completely risk-free.

Account and Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and associated data inside the app, when that option is available, or by contacting us at the email address listed in this policy.

After your request, we will remove or anonymize personal data associated with your account, except for information that must be retained for legal obligations, security, abuse prevention, or database integrity.

Children and Teenagers

Espresso is not specifically directed at children. If we identify inappropriate use by minors or improper collection of children's data, we may remove related information as needed.
